Testicular inflammation, cryptorchidism
AROM+ is a mouse model expressing human aromatase gene under universal UbiC promoter. AROM+ mice are cryptorchid and infertile. During ageing, they develop interstitial inflammation characterized by activated macrophages, mast cells and fibrosis. In addition, AROM+ mice have Leydig cell hypertrphy and hyperplasia.AROM+ mouse is an useful model to study inflammation and fibrosis and/or cryptorchidism -related male infertility. It can also be used to investigate hormonal regulation of Leydig cell development, structure and function.
